About Digital Charities

We are a diverse community of people working across the charity and social-good sectors who share digital knowledge and support each other to deliver compelling digital content, experiences, campaigns and solutions.

There are 1,400 of us on Slack chatting about everything from cookies to governance. We get together at least once a quarter for a planned meet up, usually with amazing speakers, and catch up over beers and pizza regularly too.

New members and ideas for our meetings are always welcome. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, usually in an office of one of our members in London.

We first came together to discuss how to work together on web for Make Poverty History more than a decade ago. The group has kept meeting ever since.

Members of the group include digital campaigners, web editors, designers and digital managers from Amnesty International, ActionAid, Bond, Centrepoint, Greenpeace, Oxfam, UNICEF, Christian Aid, Friends of the Earth, WWF and many more. We have some agencies and freelancers in there too, but strict rules about using the network for selling (it’s a big no, including from the chairs!).

To join, you must be employed by or work predominantly for a charity, NGO, social enterprise or government org like the NHS – if you’re not sure, apply and send us a message. We often have external speakers from all sectors.

The current DC Chairs are Julius Honnor and Laura Robertson from content strategists Contentious, Neil Gunn from Independent Age, Ailin Martinez from ODI and Gemma Hampson from Hactar.
